天然氣發(fā)動機凸輪軸與柴油機線型不同，柴油機氣門重疊角是128°，這樣可以有較充足的掃氣時間可以把氣門、氣缸、氣缸蓋這些高溫部件的溫度降下來，而天然氣發(fā)動機的氣門重疊角是22°，掃氣只能通過活塞推出，不能大面積掃氣，這也是燃氣機排溫比柴油機高許多的其中一個原因。

可以減小壓縮比。天然氣發(fā)電機組的壓縮比不能太大，否則容易爆燃而且天然氣發(fā)動機沒有像柴油機那樣要求油和空氣在燃燒室內形成氣相混合物，所以，它的活塞頂部為平形的而且由于天然氣發(fā)動機燃燒室溫度比柴油機高許多，如果做成各種形狀那么邊緣、底臺以及口緣處會因持續(xù)高溫而燒壞。

Natural gas engines do not require oil and air to form a gas-phase mixture in the combustion chamber like diesel engines do. Therefore, the top of its piston is flat, and due to the much higher temperature in the combustion chamber of natural gas engines compared to diesel engines, if made into various shapes, the edges, bottom, and mouth will be burned out due to continuous high temperatures.
